What you can do as a candidate
Work In Serbia helps you find roles with Serbian employers who hire international staff, submit applications, upload documents when asked, and follow progress toward contract and visa steps where they apply to you.
Everything runs from your worker dashboard after you sign in.
1. Worker registration
Use worker registration (not company registration). The form has three steps:
- Personal information — name, email, phone, occupation.
- Professional information — skills and interests used for matching and alerts.
- Security — password and required consents (including GDPR).
Employers hiring staff must use the separate company registration page.
2. Signing in and password
Sign in with the email and password you created at registration.
If you forgot your password, use the reset flow from the login page and follow the email link.
3. Before you can apply to jobs
The platform requires all of the following:
- Verified email — open the confirmation link sent to your inbox.
- 100% profile completion — fill every required field in your profile (and CV area where required) until the dashboard shows your profile as complete.
You cannot start a new job application while another of your applications is in an active visa process. Finish that process first; the dashboard will explain when this rule applies.
4. Worker dashboard (main areas)
After login, use the menu to move around. Paths below are relative (your browser adds the language segment — for example /rs/ for Serbian).
- Dashboard/dashboard/worker
- Profile/dashboard/worker/profile
- CV/dashboard/worker/cv
- Jobs/dashboard/worker/jobs
- Applications/dashboard/worker/applications
- Visa / process status/dashboard/worker/visa
- Settings/dashboard/worker/settings
You must be logged in with a worker account to open these pages.
5. Profile and CV
Complete your profile and CV details early — applications are blocked until your profile reaches 100% completion.
You can edit your profile from the Profile section and manage CV content from the CV section, following the fields the form asks for.
6. Finding and applying for jobs
Typical steps:
- Browse openings under Jobs and open a listing to read the full description.
- When you apply, you submit information tied to that role. The job description text in your application must be between 50 and 5,000 characters of plain text (same rules as on the employer side).
- After you apply, you should receive a confirmation email and the employer is notified.
- You can track each application under Applications.
7. Your applications
After you submit an application, this is what usually happens:
- Your application starts as pending while the employer reviews it.
- You receive emails when the employer updates your status (for example under review, approved, or rejected).
- The application screen shows your progress (for example profile → documents → verification → contract → visa → completed — depending on your case).
- Upload documents when requested and follow on-screen steps for contract and payment stages when they appear.
- You can withdraw an application from the application detail when withdrawal is available.
Law firm and formal steps
Work permits, contracts, and related formalities are handled together with the platform and, where needed, the partner law firm. Follow the instructions and channels shown in the app so lawyers and coordinators can work with the same information.
8. Visa and process status
Open Visa / process status to see where you are when your application reaches visa-related stages. Details depend on your case and what the employer and administrators have enabled.
9. Settings
In Settings you can update account preferences and change your password. After a password change you may need to sign in again for all features to work reliably.
If you are hiring staff, read Help for companies.
10. Public pages
You can open these without logging in:
